He turns the tables on them and engages in duels with everyone, killing or gravely injuring them all. Due to Mme. de Plougastel's husband being a counterrevolutionary, both she and Aline are in danger. Moreau discovers that his godfather need travel authorizations in order to release these two women from Paris. After obtaining the required travel authorizations, he departs to give them to the women.
