Golestan

Banu is born into Iran’s Qajar royal family and grows up in a privileged world in 1950s Tehran. But as revolution transforms her country, everything she knows — her family, identity and future — is thrown into turmoil.

Set against the Iranian Revolution of 1979 and the devastating war that follows, Golestan: The Garden of Memories is an intimate and emotional portrait of an Iranian woman confronting a changing country and an uncertain destiny.

A story of love, family, loss and resilience, it offers a deeply personal perspective on Iran beyond the headlines — and on the extraordinary strength of women caught in the upheavals of history.
