What Rivers Carry

When Rajshahi is divided by the newly drawn border of 1947, Arun Sengupta's family leaves behind their home carrying little more than a few treasured books, a fistful of earth, and an unshakable belief that knowledge can survive even the greatest loss.Beginning again in Kolkata, Arun dedicates himself to a simple but radical idea: education should belong to everyone. As refugees rebuild their lives, he creates classrooms wherever he can and develops a way of teaching that blends respect for tradition with the practical demands of survival.
