Drawing on Ancient Ethiopian verse, African American spirituals and gospel songs, alongside the words of poets such as Olaudah Equiano, Phillis Wheatley, Pauli Murray, Audre Lorde and Kei Miller, these poems open onto a rich spiritual landscape.
