John Keats and the Perils of Posterity

An original account of the successive posthumous phases of Keats's fame and reputation, beginning with his death in 1821 through to the early twentieth century when the Keats-Shelley House in Rome, and Keats House in Hampstead, were secured as memorial sites. It tells the story of how Keats's fame grew and how his legacy was established.
