Celebrating the life and ministry of journalist, broadcaster and spiritual writer Michael Ford, this book contains tributes from those who knew the man best – his family, friends, professional colleagues and associates – and demonstrates the underlying theme to all he wrote: how the Other, especially those wounded, dispossessed and on the margins of society, as well as those who have opted for a distinctive, Christian lifestyle, are able to become a blessing to those whom they meet and with whom they engage. Michael’s distinguished career included broadcasting nationally and internationally with the BBC, and interviewing some of the world’s most inspiring spiritual figures, including Desmond Tutu, Henri Nouwen, Basil Hume and Rowan Williams. Ideas discussed in the book include the wounded healer, spiritual and intellectual biography, contemplation in everyday life, nature and mysticism, grace, befriending death, ecumenism and the eucharist, vocation, the meaning of ‘priesthood’, the marginalized, art, film; narrative, identity, monasticism, spiritual challenges, travel and pilgrimage, female contemplatives, Henri Nouwen, Mychal Judge and the lost and found.
