The Havamal - With Selections from Other Poems of The Edda, Illustrating the Wisdom of the North in Heathen Times

First published in 1923, this volume provides the entire text of the Havamal in the original Old Norse, together with a facing-page English translation. At the time of publication, the poem had only been made available within editions of the Poetic Edda or still larger collections. This was therefore a significant book, which considerably increased the accessibility of the Havamal. A long introduction and generous notes are also provided, together with extracts from three other poems (including the greater part of the Sigrdrifumal) which serve to complement the main text.
