Originally allied to Germany and Austro-Hungary, Italy remained neutral at the beginning of the war but came in on the Allied side in 1915. This book, issued by the British General Staff, provides a detailed exposition on the Italian Army in every aspect. Beginning with the country, its area, population, government etc. it goes on to describe the army - its composition, pay and conditions of service, organization, administration, the Staff, equipment, instruction and training, Colonial forces and the Bersaglieri and more. Among the appendices is a vocabulary of military terms.
