Through Fifty Yearsa History of the Surma Valey Light Horse 1837-1930

Covering the post-Mutiny foundation of the unit in 1857 down to the Great War and the 1920s, this history is written in an easy, flowing style with many individual names included in the text and the picture captions. The unit served on the north-east frontier (Manipur) in 1891; and in the Boer War when it formed ''B'' company of the famous Lumsden''s Horse.
