Astronomical Hazards for Life on Earth (IAU S374)

IAU Symposium 374 covers several potential hazards caused by astronomical phenomena, presenting a comparative analysis of them. Since the impact of near-Earth asteroids are considered to pose the greatest risk, the discovery, monitoring and dynamical evolution is discussed, as well as the study of the meteor phenomena.
