A pioneer in the field of Law and Economics, Professor dr. philos. Erling Eide has been with the University of Oslo’s Faculty of Law, Department of Private Law since 1980 and as of January 1, 2011, he will be Professor emeritus of Law and Economics. With «Law and Economics. Essays in Honour of Erling Eide» a number of his friends and colleagues, in Norway and internationally, have come together to pay tribute to him and mark the occasion of his 70th birthday.
This celebratory anthology is comprised of 15 essays ranging across two broad themes where Erling Eide has had a leading role: the interface of economics and law in general, as well as the discipline of economic analysis of law and its actual or potential legal applications. These essays will be of great appeal to practicing lawyers and economists, academics, students and anyone with an interest in law and economics.
