Written in an informal, student-friendly style, Diverse Atoms surveys the surveys the properties of all the chemical elements in order of atomic number. This approach emphasizes chemical individuality and the effect of electron configuration on chemical behaviour. Each entry comprises a description of the element, its uses and biological roles and provides glimpses of contemporary and future research activity.
