Bio-Functional Dentistry: Principles, Material Designs and Applications

Oral diseases pose a major threat to public health around the world. Diseases such as dental caries, periodontitis, gingivitis, halitosis, and oral cancer affect people of all age groups. This book explores the concept of bio-functional dentistry and outlines novel intelligent hydrogels and various biomedical applications of smart/intelligent hydrogels in oral care, health, and veterinary medicine. Other researchers’ work are presented as well as the author’s own efforts to develop novel intelligent functional hydrogels and their applications in dentistry, general health, and veterinary medicine.
