Lanthanide and Other Transition Metal Ion Complexes and Nanoparticles in Magnetic Resonance Imaging

The diagnostic application of MRI Contrast agents, both in the form of Gd3+ and transition metal complexes, like Mn at different oxidation states, as well as of nanomaterials, such as iron oxides, ferrites and Ln3+ salts, including their theranostic potential, is described in detail.
