Developing Children as Researchers - A Practical Guide to Help Children Conduct Social Research

Enabling young children to conduct their own social research can have both social and educational benefits, helping them to influence local and national policies and practices on issues that affect or matter to them. This practical guide gives teachers –and others who work with children– a set of structured, easy to follow session plans to encourage children to conduct research on topics of their choice. The ten session plans have been tried and tested in many schools and make the process of teaching research skills and supporting children’s research projects readily accessible to adults who want to enhance children’s curiosity by investigating the issues that concern them.
