Advanced EMDR Therapy - A Therapist’s Guide to Complex Presentations

Advanced EMDR Therapy is an ideal guide for therapists who have completed their basic EMDR training for treating adult clients with complex presentations. In these pages, clinicians will find a solid theoretical foundation and an EMDR-based approach to therapy for assessing, conceptualizing, and treating a wide range of clinical presentations complicated by developmental trauma. Using an evidenced based, transdiagnostic approach, the book places strong emphasis on integrating current theoretical mechanisms posited for the efficacy of EMDR with psychodynamic influences distilled from attachment theory, ego state theory, and theoretical models for dissociation. Combined with detailed examples of advanced EMDR techniques, readers will come away with a practical, integrated, and transdiagnostic EMDR approach for reprocessing complex trauma-related phenomena.
