America's Feeble Weapon - Funding the Marshall Plan in France and Italy, 1948-1950

This study analyses the impact of the Marshall Plan on French and Italian economic policy. It argues that massive aid to Western Europe was a perceived political necessity as American, French and Italian governments shared the strategic-ideological goal of Communist containment.
