This book empowers people of African descent within the United States and abroad by focusing on solutions created by Africana women for decolonizing colonial educational structures. Offering an in-depth examination and analysis of six Africana women (three from Detroit and three from South Africa – Johannesburg and Pretoria), the author challenges the deficit models of Black educational systems.
