The 70th birthday of Heiko Steuer, Professor of Pre- and Protohistory at Freiburg University from 1984 to 2005, andfor many years one of the editors of the Reallexikon der Germanischen Altertumskunde, has been the occasion for the presentation of this collection of 35 papers.
