Ever since watching David Leans masterpiece ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ as a young boy, Robert Ayre has been fascinated by the life and times of T. E. Lawrence. Another admirer of Lawrence, Winston Churchill, once described the early months of the Second World War as "a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma" but this quote could much more appropriately apply to Lawrence himself.
