Daily Readings - the Early Church Fathers

Glean from the insights of twelve of the Early Church Fathers. The early church fathers have always had a special place in Christian theology. As the first interpreters of the gospel, their words exude the sheer freshness and tangible reality of the gospel. More than this, they were the thinkers who first extracted the full meaning of what Scripture says about the Trinity and the person of Christ.   The Readings are dated for every day of the year and, beginning with a brief biography, each month is devoted to the writings of a different father’s commentary on a range of scriptures.   Key figures include: St John Chrysostom St Gregory the Theologian St Ambrose of Milan St Basil of Caesarea St Augustine of Hippo Their sayings, in this beautifully presented gift edition by Nick Needham, are more than just relevant; they offer an opportunity for the same godly spirit to be kindled within us.
