Sampling - An Introduction for Social Scientists

Sampling (1967) aims to simplify sampling theory for social scientists, many of whom are unwilling mathematicians. It discusses percentages and weighted averages; frequency distributions, their means and variances; experimental and theoretical sampling distributions; problems of estimation and significance; practical sampling schemes and some of the difficulties of devising questionnaires. All these topics are illustrated by practical examples.
