This book offers the first comprehensive analysis of nationalist violence in postwar Europe. Through a combination of theoretical modeling, statistical methods and case studies, the author shows that nationalist violence in developed countries is the product of unresponsive political elites and nationalists unable to attract supporters through legal channels.
