Electoral Systems and Political Context - How the Effects of Rules Vary Across New and Established Democracies

This book compares the effects of proportional representation and single-member district electoral rules in new and established democracies. The authors use mixed-member electoral systems as a social laboratory to study electoral system effects. They find that electoral system effects tend to be different in new democracies than in established democracies.
