Korea - the twisting roads to unification

There are five basic scenarios for the future of Korea: (1) North Korea prevails and South Korea collapses; (2) South Korea prevails and North Korea collapses; (3) both withdraw into themselves; (4) compromise and cooperation; (5) unification, transcending the two Koreas in a new society . confederation, federation or unitary state, for them to decide . hopefully drawing on the good aspects of either (self-reliance, mixed economy). Hardliners in North and South dream of «unification by absorption», as it happened in Vietnam (by military victory of the North). But that is not likely, and undesirable, because it would lead to war. Six decades after the Korean war, it is time for peace.
