In today.s world, with its extreme gap between rich and poor, with military interventions to preserve this inequality, and the reckless destruction of nature, about 200,000 people die each day from misery-hunger and preventable or curable diseases. This book proposes to replace this killing economy with a living economy that focuses primarily on meeting the basic needs of those most in need, instead of concentrating on generating superprofits for the wealthiest people. The book covers the five main schools of thought in economics: the blue school, ruled by market and capital; the red school, directed by state and plan; the green school, guided by local society, civil society and dialogue; the pink school, a compromise between blue, red and some green; and the yellow school, combining blue and red.
