From the perspective of comprehensive analysis and understanding of Prof. Zheng Hangsheng’s sociological theories and notions, this book tries to explore his academic career to become a pioneer, advocate, forerunner and propellent of Theoretical Consciousness (TC) and evaluate scientifically the theoretical value and methodological significance of his thoughts on TC, involving four different dimensions: current situation review and keen perception, disciplinary mission and discourse transformation, knowledge production and practice, topicality and application expansion. so as to deeply grasp the ideological essence of theoretical consciousness and highlight Zheng's important role in the restoration and reconstruction of Chinese sociology. With the joint efforts of the sociological community, the localization process of Chinese sociology and the awareness of “theoretical consciousness” have been continuously strengthened. The collective awakening, inheritance and continuous efforts of the academic community consciousness have promoted the production, application and dissemination of China’s own sociological knowledge system, and provided strong academic support for writing the "China Story" and shown a vivid picture of diversity of schools of thoughts and the common prosperity in the future.
