Imprinted - A Social History of Caribbean Reading

''Imprinted'' is a personal story and social history of reading and the development of a literary culture in the Caribbean. It explores the places and spaces of such a cultural journey, during and after the colonial period, in particular in Dominica, the author''s birthplace. Entwined within this critique is the story of the author''s own reading history, from being a child reader devouring the library (Black Power heroes and romance fiction) of her family home in Dominica to the concerns of a literary scholar of a digital age.
