A course in English intonation - received pronunciation

This book, together with the accompanying cassettes, provides a basic course in the intonation system of Received Pronunciation. The course material is presented in ten structured units. Discussion of the use and meaning of the intonation patterns is presented as each pattern is introduced. A Course in English Intonation (Received Pronunciation) is intended for use at the level of university foundation courses in English and courses training teachers of Enligsh as a foreign language. Recordings of the examples and exercises are available on audio-cassettes (ISBN 82-00-12719-2, NOK 288,00), and keys to the exercises are given in the text. The course is therefore also suitable for independent study.
