A monograph from respected, sustainability-focused Norwegian architecture practice Snøhetta, focusing on the impact of their work on people, society and the environment. This monograph will bring fans of the practice up to date with Snøhetta's most recent work and the intentions behind their designs, as well as the impact that they can and have had on the buildings' users and the world around them. Projects have been carefully chosen to highlight the practice's design philosophy, working methods and sensibilities. Designed by their in-house book designer Henrik Haugen, this title seeks to explain what the practice considers important when it comes to designing buildings, products and interiors, as well as its more general intentions and stated environmental credentials. These are world-class buildings, such as the soon-to-open Shanghai Opera House, often produced in collaboration with artists, like Olafur Eliasson and José Parlá. Unit Editions founder Adrian Shaughnessy has contributed texts throughout, bringing his thoughtful decades-long reflections on the work to bear.
