dieDASdocs is a new series of publications documenting the fellowship program at the Design Academy Saaleck. Led by 2023 Artistic Director Germane Barnes, this year-s theme, Monumental Affairs_Living with Contested Spaces, delves into the complex history of monuments and their entwinement with urgent global challenges such as social inclusivity, decolonization, transformative activism, and regenerative design solutions. Distinguished mentors and guest speakers from diverse disciplines and industries, were invited to engage the fellows in stimulating conversations and workshops. dieDASdocs translates the program-s unique collective spirit through interviews, visual essays, lectures, quotes, and workshop documentations. Offering a peek into the evolution of groundbreaking ideas within an intimate context, the journal celebrates innovation and provides a platform for influential voices to shape the design landscape of tomorrow.
