Paulo Monteiro

Once a member of Brazil’s Casa 7, Monteiro combines Abstract Expressionism with Neo-Concretism to explore the lines between painting and sculpture

Paulo Monteiro (born 1961) is one of the leading Brazilian contemporary artists. His works have been displayed worldwide and are part of major collections, including the MoMA. His paintings blend cool and warm tones, often creating striking contrasts, while his sculptures reshape matter into dynamic, swelling forms.
