Kiedis is the frontman of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and this is is memoir of a life spent in the fast lane. He describes his childhood with his father, where pills, pot and drugs were a part of everyday life, and how he found the ultimate kick in his music. Collaborating with three high school buddies, he formed the Chili Peppers. Kiedis also tells how his band mate Hillel Slovak died of an overdose, and describes his own addiction to drugs and his way out of the problems.
