Like JOE THE BARBARIAN beforeit, RAINBOW BRIDGE can address the lines between reality and fantasy (althougheverything in the book is portrayed as actually happening), wish fulfillment andpersonal growth, childhood and young adulthood. There are also themes ofovercoming trauma, and of compassion for animals.
