The Ladybird of Vienna

Inspired by a true story! Vienna, 1938. As Hitler's forces roll into Austria, a desperate operation is undertaken… When Meira Taub’s father is arrested and her twin brother vanishes into the Nazi camp system, Meira’s helplessness quickly becomes a steely resolve to help the children she tutors, children like her – those who think or look differently, and face persecution for it. With Irish journalist James Delaneh, a man running from his own troubled past, Meira orchestrates an underground operation to smuggle the vulnerable children out of the country. It's a race against time, bureaucracy, and brutality, where one wrong move could mean death. The Ladybird of Vienna brings to vivid life the hidden networks of resistance, and the neurodivergent individuals who were targeted by Nazi eugenics policies yet refused to be erased. It's a story about the power of love to transcend borders, the courage of those history often overlooks, and one woman's extraordinary mind fighting against the machinery of hatred.
