Love is in the air in the colorful village of Ballybucklebo, but Dr. Fingal Flahertie O-Reilly has a long way to go before meeting his sweetheart Kitty O-Hallorhan at the altar. First, he and his young colleague, Barry Laverty, must deal with their usual round of eccentric patients-and crises both large and small.
Being the head doctor in Ballybucklebo often means more than tending to stuffy noses and aches and pains. Dr. O-Reilly-s work also includes helping a struggling young couple acquire their first home, clearing the name of a cat accused of preying on a neighbor-s prize pigeons, and encouraging a bright working-class girl who dreams of one day becoming a doctor herself.
And Dr. O-Reilly isn-t the only one with romance on the mind. Barry, still smarting from a painful breakup, has caught the eye of a lovely schoolteacher-as long as his work and her passionate political convictions don-t get in the way.
