Favorita

‘I’m sorry, your mother was murdered.’

Fila hasn't seen her chaotic mother Magdalena in years, not since she's disgraced their family by opening a brothel. Now, news comes from Italy: Magdalena has died under circumstances that Fila cannot help but find suspicious.

Fila collects her mother's ashes and sets out, urn in tow, to retrace her family history and the whirlwind life of the woman last known as Favorita.

Part feminist revenge fantasy, part hallucinatory road trip, Favorita is a blazing and inventive story of one woman’s wild search for the truth and herself from an incendiary new European talent.
