Venerated Sister Valour and Pre-eminent Petrichor are members of the Order of Axsten, an assassin’s guild tasked with keeping order in the rough city of Vinterstock. They have been given their biggest job yet: to kill the mysterious leader of the city''s illegal magic trade. Easier said than done when they see each other as utter rivals, and the beautiful aristocrat Ingrid Rytterdahl elbows her way into the mission. As secrets bubble to the surface, the duo must outwit the thugs on their tail, keep Ingrid alive, and—hardest of all—work together without murdering each other.
