The Nut Brown Maid - and other stories from the Yorkshire Dales

Well known Yorkshire author Colin Speakman's collection of thirteen famous stories from the Yorkshire Dales are more than mere re-tellings of tales that form part of a Dales literary heritage, but are an imaginative blend of myth, legend, ballad, folklore and actual history, explored with humour, wit, passion and more than an occasional flash of poetry. Through all these stories runs a vivid sense of place - the richly historic landscape of the Yorkshire Dales themselves. Suitable for readers of all ages, from twelve upwards.
