Manchester, 1986. Ambitious detective Andrew Joyce is transferred to a new department which employs unusual methods to solve cold cases. Sceptical Joyce must find a way to work with former-socialite Peggy Swan - who just so happens to be able to speak to the dead - to solve the mystery of a young woman's murder before the killer can strike again.
