Following an encounter with Maximillion Crooked, Imogen Hackerton, daughter of a congressman and great-great-great-granddaughter of the infamous Hacker the Horrible, is drawn into a web of blackmail and deceit.
Imogen tells Maximillion of an ancient, haunted asylum and the belief it contains a hidden fortune. Max, an unscrupulous man always on the lookout for his next money-making venture, persuades a television network to produce a TV show from the asylum, placing five young people inside to search out a monetary prize.
